between the Sierra (highlands
of the Andes) and the Amazonic jungle region of Perú, at an
agreeable altitude of 6250 feet above sea level. The famous
Inca
ruins of Huanuco Pampa are located in the Department of
Huanuco,
whose capital is the city of the same name.
