Tarma es una bella ciudad localizada entre la cordillera
central y la cordillera oriental de los Andes a una altitud
de alrededor de 3,060 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Dado que se encuentra en un profundo valle el único acceso
es por tierra, lo cual inhibe un mayor influjo de turistas.
Una opción para remediar esto sería el uso comercial del
aeropuerto de Jauja desde el cual el acceso por tierra sería
mucho más fácil que el actual que implica un duro viaje de 5
horas desde Lima pasando por alturas que llegan a 4,800
metros sobre el nivel del mar.

Tarma is
a beautiful city located between the central and eastern
sections of the Andes mountains at an altitude of
approximately 10,000 feet above sea level.
Given its location in a deep valley, the only access is by
land, which inhibits a greater influx of tourists.
A possible remedy for this would be that the airport in
Jauja be used commercially. From there the access to Tarma
would be much easier than presently where the 5 hour land
trip from Lima is quite uncomfortable, passing through very
high altitudes over 15,700 feet above sea level.
